OpenAI to merge ChatGPT's Chat and Work tabs, pool ChatGPT and Codex usage

OpenAI told subscribers by email that it will begin testing a combined Chat and Work experience in ChatGPT with a small group of users in the coming weeks before a wider rollout, letting people bring in files and plugins and have ChatGPT build websites, presentations or carry out web tasks in one place. Codex stays a separate experience in the desktop app. An updated OpenAI support page says that starting in December, Plus, Pro and Business plans will draw ChatGPT and Codex usage from one token-based allowance, with Instant chats excluded; OpenAI expects most users won't hit resets more often than now.
