OpenAI signs Magnite and PubMatic deals to fill unused ChatGPT ad space
OpenAI has signed deals with supply-side ad platforms Magnite and PubMatic to sell ChatGPT ad inventory it hasn't filled directly, The Information reported. Advertisers can use the two companies' software to set budgets, bid and upload ads, while OpenAI's systems control where and how ads appear. Initial volumes are still small, according to the report, and the deals follow earlier tie-ups with Amazon Ads, Criteo, LiveRamp and StackAdapt. An OpenAI spokesperson said the arrangements make ChatGPT ads easier to buy through tools advertisers already use. Magnite and PubMatic shares rose on the news.
