Anthropic plans to raise up to $3.5 billion from Japanese investors in its US IPO
Anthropic filed with Japan's Kanto Local Finance Bureau on Monday to sell up to ¥552.9 billion ($3.5 billion) of new shares to Japanese investors as part of its planned Nasdaq listing under the ticker ANT. Mizuho Securities will manage the Japan offering, with Goldman Sachs, Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley, Morgan Stanley MUFG, Rakuten and SBI taking orders. Proceeds would go to working capital, operating expenses and capital spending. The filing doesn't give the overall IPO size or valuation, and Nasdaq hasn't yet approved the listing. The Japan tranche would top the $2.2 billion Japanese investors bought in SpaceX's June IPO.
